On this day of 24 November in 1859, Darwin’s Origin of Species was published. Since then, even the dominant interpretations of natural selection has... how to put it... evolved. We’ve moved from understanding it as the survival of the strongest, to survival of those who can best manage/adapt to change, to (my favorite current version) survival of those who can best use their strengths to lead & protect the tribe, and flourish in the face of complex changes.
The greatest challenge of our time - #ClimateChange - desperately needs leadership of the complex systems involved, and needs this from every person at every level of problem solving. This is not something reserved for big thinkers and thought leaders. This is more critical than ever for every Engineer creating and implementing the solutions on the ground.
