Acceptance Lag • New Paths

Updated: Nov 11, 2021

Part 5 of 5 for the April edition of "Converging over Coffee"

The final thought on the subject of Acceptance Lag is reserved for an inward look at the Self.

More than a few people have asked with genuine curiosity (or bewilderment) how I found the "courage" to stop and decide that I will go do something different even though everything seem to be going well. I would share many things, but most of them meaningful just to my situation. And I think that's how it will be for everyone if they go through the evaluation process.

What is worth sharing here though... In stepping out of my comfort zone, the bottom-line was to go back to operating at the brink of my competencies. That's the sweet spot where I find the most growth & genuine happiness. For a long time, I've sought & found (with the support of mentors) new "brinks" even within the same organization, so this isn't always about changing employers.

Question is... If you stop one day & realize you've drifted away from the brink, will you do something about it?
