Sharing an article that is quite well put together, demystifying the realities of ESG ratings, what they do for companies who get onboard and what they try to tell us about these companies. ESG ratings are always multi-dimensional, but ultimately focuses on financial risk. It may be surprising to non-practitioners - including sustainability professionals - that a high ESG rating does NOT necessarily result in positive impact.
