When was the last time you were in an integrated team where responsibilities between 2 or more partners were clear-cut, well-defined and didn't overlap? Chances are... almost never.

Most of the time, we still operate with contracts & scopes that are based on the belief that we can nail down the split in responsibilities. Understandably, we are much more comfortable knowing that risks associated with responsibilities are properly allocated. But where the allocation itself cannot be well-defined realistically, the risks are either accounted for 2 or 3 times over (creating waste) or falls completely through the gap (creating even greater risks).
